Posnanski: Marvin Miller is once again on the Hall of Fame ballot. What’s the right thing to do here? (The Athletic)

This piece is directed toward all those people — a majority of people, I suspect — who believe that Marvin Miller is one of the most significant figures in baseball history and should be honored in the Baseball Hall of Fame. There are those who disagree with all of that, those who think only players should be recognized (though that’s not how it works), those who believe that Miller, as the leader of the player union that forced free agency and countless other player rights and benefits, changed the game for the worse and should not be honored at all. I’m not discounting those views. I just disagree strongly with them and do not believe there’s much point in having that argument again.

So this is for people who do want Marvin Miller elected and inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Here’s your question: What is the right thing to do here?

Yes, of course, the right thing was to have elected Miller into the Baseball Hall of Fame many, many years…
