MLB investigating pitcher Sam Dyson for domestic violence after allegations posted on social media (The Athletic)

Major League Baseball is investigating free agent reliever Sam Dyson for domestic violence, sources tell The Athletic.

Dyson’s ex-girlfriend, Alexis Blackburn, authored two lengthy Instagram posts this week alluding to domestic violence by an unnamed individual, one on her personal account, another on an account she authors in the voice of her cat, Snuckles. A source confirmed to The Athletic that she was writing about Dyson.

Baseball became aware of the situation this week and launched an investigation that will include an interview with Blackburn in the near future, sources said.

On her own account, Blackburn referred to being bullied, writing: “I am broken . . . I’ve allowed my physical health, my emotional health and my mental health to diminish to nothing. I’ve allowed more things to happen than I want to admit. I don’t know who this girl is right now because this hasn’t been me. I haven’t been me in so long. I’ve allowed myself…
